About Us

WHAT IS GUIDELINE?

GUIDELINE is a professional Islamic counselling service that provides free, confidential, and accessible support to individuals facing life's many challenges.

Our services include:

  • Counselling & Support: Offering both face-to-face and online sessions to ensure accessibility.
  • Holistic Care: A collaborative approach between qualified mental health professionals, Ulama, and trained volunteers.
  • Community Outreach: Educating communities, addressing stigma around mental health, and creating awareness through marital programmes and workshops, learner-support initiatives, webinars, and volunteer training.
  • Faith-Centred Guidance: Rooted in Islamic principles, GUIDELINE aims to enhance the lives of individuals and families through compassion, understanding, and spiritual alignment.

Confidentiality is central to our work. Every individual's personal struggles are treated with the utmost integrity and regarded as an Amaanah (trust).

THE NEED

Today, our society faces pressing challenges, such as:

  • Rising mental health concerns
  • Marital and family breakdowns
  • Violence, abuse, and substance addiction
  • Depression, suicide, trauma, and bereavement

The strength of the Ummah lies in the wellbeing of its individuals and families. GUIDELINE exists to strengthen these foundations, helping people navigate difficulties with dignity, resilience, and faith.

OUR TARGET GROUP

  • GUIDELINE seeks to serve all individuals within the community who may be facing difficulties in their personal lives or within their family units.
  • Beyond counselling, GUIDELINE seeks to educate and empower people from all walks of life through enrichment programmes and community-based initiatives.

BENEFITS OF ISLAMIC COUNSELLING

  • Faith-focused: Counselling addresses both the psychosocial and spiritual needs of individuals, nurturing growth through the principles of Islam.
  • Holistic: By combining established psychosocial practices with Islamic rulings and teachings, we provide a unique, holistic framework absent in conventional counselling.
  • Prophetic Model: Counselling in Islam traces back to the Sunnah of our beloved Prophet Muhammad r, who exemplified empathy, compassion, and respect in his guidance.
  • Non-judgemental Support: While stigma and judgement are sadly common in communities, GUIDELINE strives to rewrite this narrative. Many individuals hesitate to seek help or are unaware of its benefits. GUIDELINE provides a trusting space, with counselling that is strictly confidential.
  • Wide Application: From marital difficulties and family conflict to bullying, substance abuse, trauma, or personal mental health struggles, GUIDELINE offers accessible entry-level counselling. Where needed, we provide referrals to specialised services.

Seeking help is not a weakness, but rather a step towards strength and spiritual growth!
